7-Days Rongai Route

7-days Kilimanjaro Trek Starting from the northern-eastern side of the mount Kilimanjaro near the Kenyan border through Amboseli national park and approach the summit of Kilimanjaro west of the Mawenzi peak. 7-Days Kilimanjaro climb via this route is an unfrequented and is also the easiest camping approach to Uhuru Peak. In this route you can opt to add one day on the mountain in order to increase acclimatization. The experienced climbers 6 days climbing is best of their choice as they not be affected by terrain of this route.
Kilimanjaro Trek | Rongai Route 7-Days

7 days Kilimanjaro Trek – Tour Program.

Day 1: Transfer to Rongai Nalemoru Gate and hike to Simba Camp

The begins of 7-days Rongai route. Pick up from your hotel, drive to Marangu. On reaching the Gate (1843m), complete park registration and drive 3 to 4 hours to the gate (you will have hot lunch hear). The crews will waiting for you and begin to ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro to Simba camp site for overnight

Day 2: Hike to Kikelewa Caves (3600m)

After breakfast our trek continues up towards kibo, passing second cave for a stop for a hot lunch then continue to camp (3600m) where you will have overnight

Day 3: Hike to Mawenzi Tarns (4330m)

After breakfast Begin trek to the Hut, 4,330m. you will leave the short vegetation to a low desert area before reaching your Turn camp, whereby you have hot lunch and spend the rest of you day resting or you might have small excursions for acclimatization .

Day 4: Hike to Kibo Huts (4700m)

The route becomes gradually steeper and rockier as we leave Mawenzi Tarn Hut. You will head up stark landscape up to ‘The Saddle’ – the broad lava-stone ridge – between Mawenzi and Kibo. Stunning views of the upper reaches of Kilimanjaro can be seen before you arrive at the Hut (4703m) where you will have a hot meal in the afternoon, a relaxing evening and an early bedtime so you are well rested to start hiking at midnight for your final ascent to the summit.

Day 5: Hike to the Peak (5895m) to Horombo Hut (3700m)

Setting off at midnight for the summit, The trail follows a long screed slope past the Hans Meyer Cave and then turns into a single file zigzag on the way to Gillman’s Point situated on the crater rim, 5685m. From here you will need just another two hours to the Peak (5895m). Spend a short time at Uhuru Peak before starting our descent to Kibo Hut for a break and short time for you to rest. We will then head to Horombo for our last night on Kilimanjaro and a very well-earned sleep.

Day 6: Descend to Main Gate (1800m)

The final day of 7-Days Kilimanjaro climb; After breakfast we will descend to the gate retracing our steps past Mandara Hut, back through the magnificent rainforest and finally reaching Marangu gate. Once at the gate you will receive your summit certificates, short celebrations with your porters and be driven back to your hotel. This mark the end of 7-days Rongai route.
